Acupuncture

Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is a sophisticated and complete medical system of diagnosis and treatments that have evolved over more than 3000 years. It has been embraced internationally due to its proven effectiveness and it’s now the largest drug-free healthcare therapy in the world.  TCM is compatible with and often used in conjunction with Western medicine.

An acupuncturist inserts slim, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points on the body to stimulate a number of physiological responses in the body:
Affecting the brains short and long-term capacity to reduce pain signals
Regulating the nervous system to support resilience to stress
Regulating serotonin, to assist sleep, balance mood and encourage a healthy appetite
Stimulating the immune system to fight infections
Rebalancing blood sugar levels
Improving digestive function
Rebalancing hormone levels to help PMS symptoms and regulate period cycles

Acupuncturists combine both a traditional understanding of the body from a TCM perspective with modern innovations from current research.  Other TCM treatments may be used in conjunction with acupuncture. Including herbal medicine, Moxibustion (heat), cupping (suction cups), Tuina (massage), dietary therapy, lifestyle advice and therapeutic exercises such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

Treatment length 1 hour
Cost €65
